Grab your margaritas and rally your squad, because Amado’s is back from the brink of permanent closure!
After a catastrophic basement flood during Pride Weekend 2023 and the controversial Valencia Street bike lane drama, this beloved Mission District venue has miraculously risen from the ashes.
A Soft Comeback
The bar is currently operating on a limited schedule, open Thursday through Saturday from 5 pm to midnight. While their full menu isn’t quite ready, they’re serving up some tantalizing snacks like house-made chips, salsa, and a toasted coconut margarita that’ll make your taste buds dance.
The Road to Recovery
Owner David Quinby faced serious challenges, including $500,000 worth of water damage from an accidental fire sprinkler activation. But true to San Francisco’s resilient spirit, Amado’s refused to stay down.
What’s Next?
While live entertainment is on pause - the basement performance space needs serious TLC - the venue promises expansion in the coming months. For now, you can enjoy their “Grandma’s living room” upstairs and sip on some killer cocktails.
Welcome back, Amado’s. The Mission missed you.
