Tech companies are continuing their brutal AI-powered job massacre, and this time, Indeed and Glassdoor are the latest victims of the algorithmic apocalypse.

Recruit Holdings, the parent company of the popular job platforms, just announced they’re slashing 1,300 employees across their global operations. The bloodbath primarily targets R&D, tech, and HR divisions in the United States, representing a chilling 6% cut to their HR technology division.

The AI Job Slayer

CEO Hisayuki “Deko” Idekoba isn’t even trying to sugarcoat the situation. In a memo that reads like a corporate eulogy, he proclaimed that “AI is changing the world” and they must “adapt” by integrating more artificial intelligence into their platforms. Apparently, AI now helps someone find a job every 2.2 seconds - talk about efficiency at human expense.

Corporate Shuffle and Casualties

As part of this ruthless restructuring, Glassdoor’s current CEO Christian Sutherland-Wong is being shown the door on October 1st. LaFawn Davis, chief people and sustainability officer at Indeed, is also getting the boot. It’s a stark reminder that even high-level executives aren’t safe from the AI revolution.

The Bigger Picture

This isn’t an isolated incident. Tech giants like Microsoft, TikTok, Match, Intel, and Meta are also slashing jobs left and right, all in the name of AI integration. The message is clear: algorithms are coming for your paycheck, and they’re not asking for permission.

Welcome to the future, where job security is just another obsolete concept in our brave new digital world.
