Rob Schneider's Campus Comedy Tour: When Conservatives Try to 'Comeback'

In the wild world of conservative campus activism, things are getting weird, and we mean really weird. Turning Point USA’s “American Comeback Tour” is rolling into UC Berkeley with all the excitement of a deflated balloon, featuring none other than Rob Schneider as its headline act.
A Campus Controversy Nobody Asked For
After the tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk in September, the conservative roadshow continues its mission to stir up drama on college campuses. But this time, it seems more like a sad comedy tour than a political movement. UC Berkeley’s Turning Point chapter is pressing forward with an event that might draw a whopping 300 people, if they’re lucky.
The Berkeley Yawn
Local progressive groups aren’t even bothered enough to protest. Leela Mehta-Harwitz from the Young Democratic Socialists of America put it perfectly: “We’re not interested in being fodder for their social media cycle”. Apparently, even campus activists have better things to do than engage with Rob Schneider’s political performance art.
Security Theater
With security tighter than a hipster’s skinny jeans, bags won’t be allowed and campus police promise to “take whatever measures are deemed necessary”. Translation? They’re prepared for potentially more excitement than Schneider’s recent movie roles.
At this point, the “American Comeback Tour” feels less like a political statement and more like a nostalgic comedy roadshow that forgot to check its relevance at the door.
