Vegan Food So Good, It'll Make Meat Lovers Weep (and Eat Their Veggies)

Berkeley is about to blow your mind with a food festival that’ll make even the most hardcore carnivores question everything they know about plant-based cuisine.

The fifth annual Bizerkeley Food Fest is rolling into town, bringing over 90 vendors ready to serve up vegan deliciousness that’ll have you questioning reality. We’re talking plant-based versions of Jack in the Box tacos, KFC bowls, and – wait for it – vegan oxtails that might just make you forget meat ever existed.

More Than Just Salad

Festival organizer Erika Hazel isn’t here to lecture you about veganism – she’s here to prove that plant-based food can be mind-blowingly delicious. “We are the minority,” she says, “but this food is for everyone”. Last year, they crushed it with 6,000 attendees who were here for one thing: seriously good eats.

Beyond the Plate

This isn’t just a food fest – it’s a full-on experience. Electric car darling Rivian will be doing test drives, there’s a pickleball tournament, and yes, a bouncy house for adults (because why should kids have all the fun?). Plus, they’re supporting California Pit Bull Rescue, so you can stuff your face while feeling good about supporting a cause.

The Entertainment

Headlining the event is SF native StunnaMan02, performing a clean version of his viral hit “Eat a Salad” – proving that vegetables can be cool, one track at a time. With a beer garden, wine zone, and mimosa bar, this is definitely not your typical health food event.

Tickets are just $5, with free entry for kids 17 and under. So grab your plant-curious friends and prepare to have your mind (and taste buds) blown at the North Berkeley BART station on September 7th.
