Joey Chestnut's Plant-Based Nugget Showdown: Bay Area Legend Takes Epic Eating Challenge to Oracle Park

Joey Chestnut: Hotdog Hoover

Get ready for a culinary spectacle that’s about to rock Oracle Park! Bay Area native and competitive eating legend Joey “Jaws” Chestnut is returning home with an audacious mission: devour 99 Impossible chicken nuggets during a Giants-Dodgers game.

The Champ’s Controversial Comeback

After being temporarily booted from the legendary Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest for promoting Impossible Foods, Chestnut is turning heads once again. His recent victory at the Fourth of July competition, where he conquered 70-1/2 hot dogs in just 10 minutes, proved he’s still the undisputed king of competitive eating.

A Plant-Based Provocation

Not content with just breaking records, Chestnut is making a statement about plant-based cuisine. Stationed at The Glove alongside contest-winning fan Jayson Toweh and social media influencers Danny and Zach Guarino, he’ll attempt to demolish nearly 100 plant-based nuggets in front of a live baseball crowd.

Local Hero, Global Impact

Chestnut, a Vallejo native and San Jose State alum, continues to push boundaries in competitive eating. With 17 wins in 20 attempts at Nathan’s contest, he’s not just an athlete – he’s a walking, eating phenomenon who’s challenging perceptions about food, performance, and plant-based nutrition.
