Hold onto your protein shakes, Bay Area sports fans, because Josh Hokit just turned the UFC into his personal inflammatory platform.

The former 49ers practice squad player who traded football cleats for fighting gloves has officially become the poster child for toxic masculinity. After leaving the NFL, which he dramatically calls the “liberal snowflake” league, Hokit decided to make his mark in mixed martial arts with a strategy that’s less about fighting skills and more about offensive rhetoric.

The Problematic Playbook

In a series of cringe-worthy interviews, Hokit unleashed a tirade that would make even the most controversial podcaster blush. From racist comments about his Brazilian opponent to transphobic threats about beating up “sex traffickers and pedophiles,” he’s managed to offend approximately everyone with a pulse.

Dana White’s Controversial Contract

Despite (or perhaps because of) his inflammatory statements, UFC boss Dana White handed Hokit a professional contract. Apparently, shock value trumps sportsmanship in today’s combat sports landscape. Hokit’s “strategy” seems to be alienating entire demographics while wrapping himself in performative patriotism.

Bay Area’s Newest Problematic Athlete

What’s most disappointing isn’t just Hokit’s comments, but the system that rewards such behavior. From dismissing the NFL as “not tough enough” to targeting marginalized communities, he’s transformed from an aspiring athlete to a walking red flag of toxic masculinity. Stay classy, UFC. Not.
