San Francisco’s beloved nightlife gem is clawing its way back from the dead, and we’re here for the resurrection.

After two years of silence, Beauty Bar is preparing to reopen its legendary doors this June, bringing a wave of vintage glamour and cocktail-fueled nostalgia to the Mission District. The iconic spot, known for its cheeky “Martini and Manicure” nights, is getting a full facelift under new owner Jahaziel Garay, who swooped in faster than you can say “retro chic”.

A Mural with a Story

The bar’s most Instagram-worthy feature - its stunning street-side mural - is being lovingly restored by the original artist, simply known as Deb. Her vibrant artwork, depicting three women in a mid-century beauty salon, has become a neighborhood landmark that locals have missed desperately.

More Than Just a Bar

Garay isn’t just preserving the past; he’s adding his own personal touch. The entire space is getting upgraded with new bathrooms, bar, flooring, lighting, and sound system. While live DJs aren’t immediate, he’s teasing occasional Sunday manicure pop-ups that’ll keep the bar’s quirky spirit alive.

A Love Letter to San Francisco

With pink flamingos, vintage hair dryer chairs, and a commitment to keeping the neighborhood’s artistic soul intact, Beauty Bar’s return feels like a love letter to San Francisco’s ever-evolving cultural landscape. Get ready to raise a martini to nostalgia, creativity, and the Mission’s unstoppable spirit.
