The Eames Institute just dropped some serious design porn by snagging an epic 88.5-acre property in Novato that used to be a Birkenstock factory. That’s right – the same legendary design duo behind those iconic lounge chairs you’ve drooled over are getting a massive new museum space.

A Design Legacy Gets a New Home

Llisa Demetrios, granddaughter of Charles and Ray Eames, is spearheading this incredible project that will transform the former industrial site into a design wonderland. The museum will feature immersive exhibitions, makerspaces, educational programming, and – most importantly – a massive collection of Eames archives.
