Unfortunately, the details were about as clear as fog rolling over the San Francisco skyline. Despite his high-profile role and often unnecessary Twitter rants, questions surrounding DOGE’s purpose, and, frankly, its competence, remain shrouded in ambiguity.

Rogan, acting like the perfect enabler, asked Musk if private aerospace contractors were keeping propulsion secrets under wraps. “I don’t think they’re hiding it from me,” responded Musk, seemingly oblivious to the notion of basic transparency. Meanwhile, an AI chatbot Musk created, named Grok, was quizzed about whether all the gold is still hanging out in Fort Knox. Spoiler alert: it sarcastically lashed back with a healthy dose of skepticism, which is more than we can say for Musk’s approach to factual data.

Amid the endless rants, Musk reiterated unfounded claims of widespread fraud in the Social Security Administration. He noted that 20 million deceased individuals are “marked as alive” in the database, though he offered zero concrete evidence to support his outlandish assertions. Even as those claims were debunked, he continued down this rabbit hole like a kid lost in a candy shop.

Let’s not forget FEMA got a shoutout, as Musk claimed they spent an astonishing $59 million housing migrants. Again, that number was already public knowledge, way to give DOGE team a pat on the back for revealing the obvious!

The grand finale? Musk breezily addressed a recent PR disaster involving a gesture some likened to a Nazi salute, chalking it all up to “coordinated propaganda”. Only he could turn self-inflicted wounds into a conspiracy theory.

In this frenetic episode that did little to unveil DOGE’s operations, our favorite billionaire managed to maintain all the levels of chaos we’ve come to expect. So, while he may be leading some grand charge in U.S. governance, clarity and accountability are still nowhere to be found.
