“Happy Gilmore 2” is here to revive your '90s nostalgia and make sure you’re rolling on the floor, laughing, your roommates might think you’re unhinged, but who cares? The official trailer dropped on March 18, 2025, reuniting us with the delightful shenanigans of Happy Gilmore, played by Adam Sandler.
After taking a little break from swinging clubs (and breaking a few too), Happy is back on the golf course, and boy, he’s feeling some pressure. “I haven’t swung a club in years,” he admits, looking just a tad intimidated. Can we take a moment to appreciate how relatable that is? Everyone feels rusty after a long break, whether it’s from exercising or, like, talking to people at parties.
In true Happy style, we watch him dive back into the sport and, spoiler alert, he’s still got it! There’s a montage of him celebrating a spectacular shot, because nothing screams redemption like getting praised by a rowdy crowd. Happy also rekindles his romance with Virginia Venit, played by Julie Bowen, who leaves us swooning with her declaration, “We’re not done with golf. I can see the Happy I fell in love with”. Adorable, right?
Fans can expect some familiar faces, making this sequel feel like a warm hug. Original cast members like Christopher McDonald and Ben Stiller are returning, but get ready for the new addition of Bad Bunny, because why not throw a Grammy-winning artist into the mix?
Sandler hinted at some surprise athlete cameos, including NFL superstar Travis Kelce, whom he describes as “a big, handsome guy” who’s “funny and cool as hell”. Honestly, can we get Kelce to trade in his football for a set of golf clubs?
Scheduled for a Netflix release on July 25, 2025, this film is chugging along to become a summer must-watch. Let’s all pray this doesn’t mean we’ll have to endure more Adam Sandler Halloween movies. In his own words, Sandler said, “People have been asking for a long time” for this sequel. Looks like the fans got what they deserved, folks.
Get your popcorn ready and mark your calendars, “Happy Gilmore 2” is about to wreck all your productivity with laughter!
