Hollywood Ghosted Steph Curry's Show and We're Not Here for It

Listen up, media mavens! Another Hollywood dream just bit the dust, and this time it’s our Bay Area basketball darling Steph Curry taking the hit. 🏀
When TV Dreams Go Sideways
Steph Curry’s first scripted TV show, “Mr. Throwback,” just got the brutal cancellation treatment after a measly six episodes. Despite solid reviews and an 86% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the mockumentary-style comedy apparently couldn’t charm its way into viewers’ streaming queues.
The show, which starred Curry as himself alongside comedian Adam Pally, was supposed to be a hilarious dive into the life of a basketball legend and his opportunistic childhood friend turned sports memorabilia dealer. Spoiler alert: Hollywood wasn’t buying what they were selling.
The Corporate Synergy Fails
Despite Curry’s star power and a strategic debut right before the Paris Olympics, the show couldn’t crack the Nielsen Streaming Top 10. Even a prime-time slot on NBC couldn’t save this potential comedy gem.
But don’t cry for Steph just yet. His production company, Unanimous Media, isn’t slowing down. They’ve got an animated sports comedy film “GOAT” dropping next February, proving that one TV setback isn’t gonna stop this Bay Area icon from conquering entertainment.
So, to NBC and Peacock: your loss, our disappointment. Keep hustling, Steph! 🏆
