SF Pride Festival Drama: How One Music Event Turned into a Total Dumpster Fire 🔥

San Francisco’s Pride Weekend is about to get messy – and not in the fun, glittery way we usually love.

The highly anticipated SoSF Pride music festival is unraveling faster than a cheap drag queen wig in a wind tunnel. What started as a promising celebration featuring queer icons like Kehlani and Kim Petras has devolved into a chaotic clusterfuck that’s leaving local LGBTQ+ community members scratching their heads.

The Messy Backstory

Originally slated to rock Pier 80 with a killer lineup, the festival has gone through more identity changes than a teenager discovering their true self. First, headliner Kehlani dropped out – likely due to her vocal stance against Israeli military actions in Palestine. Then, the venue mysteriously shifted from the massive Pier 80 to the significantly smaller The Midway.

Community Calls Bullshit

The drama didn’t stop there. Event producers Fake and Gay pulled out, with founder Adam Kraft explicitly calling out the festival’s tone-deaf approach. “This is supposed to be a Pride event, and you’re not listening to us,” Kraft told local media, echoing the frustrations of many in the community.

The Great Social Media Scrub

In a move that screams “we’re totally not panicking,” the festival has completely wiped its social media presence and rebranded as the “Pride '25 Block Party”. But let’s be real – this looks less like a strategic pivot and more like a desperate cover-up.

At this point, the only thing more unpredictable than this festival is San Francisco’s summer weather. Stay tuned, queer fam – this tea is still brewing. 🌈✨
