The project, potentially named “Milliways” (yes, really), is reportedly progressing rapidly, with construction already underway on Santa Monica Boulevard. Adding to the spice, chef Eric Greenspan from Food Network is also joining this questionable venture. Chait, who was previously a Tartine partner, seems to be doing some swift LinkedIn editing to distance himself from potential backlash.

Tartine’s current CEO, Dar Vasseghi, has already attempted damage control, issuing a statement emphatically declaring that the company has absolutely nothing to do with this project - beyond sharing a first letter with Tesla.
