Drag Queens Slay ICE with Fierce Performance of Resistance

In a bold act of rebellion and resilience, San Francisco’s drag community is striking back against immigration injustice with a blazing performance that’s about to set Oakland’s White Horse Inn on fire. 🔥

A Story of Survival

Hilary Rivers, a Latinx drag performer who recently survived three months of ICE detention, is turning her traumatic experience into a powerful statement of defiance. After narrowly escaping violence in her home countries and seeking asylum in the United States, Rivers was detained while simply trying to follow legal immigration procedures during the second Trump administration.

From Detention to Drag Stage

Despite enduring freezing holding cells, harassment, and the constant threat of deportation, Rivers was ultimately granted asylum. Now, she’s using her platform to shed light on the systemic injustices faced by immigrants, particularly LGBTQ+ individuals fleeing persecution.

Caballo Blanco Against ICE

This Friday at 10 pm, Rivers will join fellow performers Xochitl and Tori Tia in a show titled “Caballo Blanco Against ICE” - a performance that promises to be part protest, part fabulous drag extravaganza. With tickets starting at $10, audiences can support these brave artists while enjoying a night of radical entertainment.

Rivers’ message is clear: “Don’t let them break you. Know your rights”. Her GoFundMe has already raised over $6,000 to help her rebuild her life, proving that community support can be a powerful form of resistance.
