Tech nerds and public service enthusiasts, get ready for some seriously cool municipal innovation! 🚀

San Jose is transforming its city operations faster than you can say “generative pre-trained transformer” with an ambitious AI training program that’s about to make government work look way more exciting. Mayor Matt Mahan is leading a technological charge that will train a whopping 1,000 city employees in artificial intelligence skills by the end of 2026.

From Boring Bureaucracy to AI Brilliance

Imagine government work getting a Silicon Valley upgrade - that’s exactly what’s happening. With two distinct training tracks - the AI Upskilling Program and the Data Upskilling Program - city staff are learning to leverage GPTs to streamline everything from grant applications to service reporting.

The Numbers Don’t Lie

Currently, about 80 staffers have already completed the 10-week courses, with tangible results that’ll make tech enthusiasts swoon. One staffer’s custom GPT has already saved a mind-blowing 500 hours of work time - talk about efficiency goals!

The Future is Now

By training approximately 15% of their workforce, San Jose is positioning itself as a forward-thinking municipal powerhouse. Who said government can’t be cutting-edge? Certainly not us!

Tech-powered public service: coming to a city near you. Stay tuned, innovation fans! 💻🌟
