In a nail-biter of a game that ended in a 114-105 loss against the Denver Nuggets, it was clear that the Golden State Warriors’ star point guard, Steph Curry, just wasn’t himself. As he stumbled through a perplexing performance, Golden State coach Steve Kerr had a straightforward diagnosis for Curry’s off night: exhaustion.

Kerr told reporters postgame, “He’s tired. Steph has been carrying us for a month; he’s been amazing. He’s tired, so we got to get him some rest. You can see it–he doesn’t have his energy right now”.

Curry’s off night was apparent; he shot just 6 of 21 from the field and had a staggering seven turnovers. Not exactly the MVP performance fans expect from a three-time NBA champion. However, let’s give Curry some credit, he’s been carrying the team on his back since February, averaging a whopping 28.6 points over the last 20 games. Thanks to his stunning performance during that stretch, the Warriors have risen through the ranks from the No. 10 playoff seed to a more respectable No. 6 in the Western Conference.

But with 14 games remaining, the big question looms: how will the Warriors manage Curry’s diminishing stamina? Coach Kerr hinted that the team might be proactive, stating they could potentially give Curry a night off in an upcoming game against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Meanwhile, Curry doesn’t feel like he needs a break. In his postgame interview, he attributed his struggles more to nagging back issues rather than fatigue. “I feel like my back more than the fatigue was the problem,” Curry noted, further adding, “Everyone’s going to try to figure out why I haven’t played great”.

As the Warriors make a final playoff push, balancing Curry’s health and energy will be pivotal to their success. The stakes are high, but only time will tell how the Warriors will navigate this intricate balance of rest and competition. So let’s hope they keep that star shining bright, after all, we can’t have a playoff run without our sharpshooting savior delivering from beyond the arc. Time to take care of business, Warriors!

Stay tuned for more updates on Curry’s condition and what the Warriors’ playoff strategy will entail as the season winds down.
