The San Francisco 49ers might be getting more than just a tight end if they pull the trigger on Penn State star Tyler Warren in the 2025 NFL Draft. Standing tall at 6-foot-6 and tipping the scales at 261 pounds, Warren describes himself as a Swiss Army knife for the offense. He’s ready to do it all, whether that’s catching passes, blocking, rushing, or even taking snaps as a wildcat quarterback. In other words, he’s the multitasker who could potentially save the world, or at least the 49ers’ offense.

“I think I can do a lot of different things, so whatever the offense needs from week to week and what they want my role to be is what I’ll do,” Warren stated at the NFL Scouting Combine. You heard it here first: he’s flexible and ready to adapt! And he’s not just talking the talk; he delivered a jaw-dropping performance at Penn State, finishing his last season with 104 catches for 1,233 yards and eight touchdowns, oh, and he also rushed for 218 yards and four more touchdowns. Talk about a stat sheet.

One of his standout moments was a masterpiece against USC where he shifted to center and executed an unbalanced offensive line play that resulted in a spectacular 32-yard touchdown catch. “I don’t think that’s ever been run before, so I think they cooked that up in the offensive staff room,” he quipped. What an innovation!

Channeling the greats, Warren wore No. 44 in college as a nod to Hall of Famer John Riggins, because nothing screams ‘I mean business’ like channeling legends. When asked about his modern inspirations, he didn’t shy away from acknowledging 49ers’ own George Kittle, saying, “He does everything well”. Praise from a potential rookie playing alongside him? Yep, we can see it forming already.

While the 49ers have some pressing needs, the buzz is building around Warren as a prime candidate, and we can almost hear 49ers GM John Lynch saying, “Difference maker”. The thought of Warren joining a system that takes full advantage of tight ends certainly sparks excitement in our hearts.

“I think that would be a great opportunity,” Warren said of the possibility of learning from Kittle and contributing to a dynamic offense. “They use tight ends in a great way; I think that would be a fun scheme to be a part of”.

So, keep those eyes peeled on draft day. This potential tight end could very well be the addition the 49ers need to break the mold.
