Tech bros, brace yourselves for a wild ride into the heart of Silicon Valley’s most controversial data mining company. On a sweltering Thursday in Palo Alto, over a hundred fired-up protesters descended on Palantir’s doorstep, armed with signs, sass, and a mission to expose the company’s potentially sinister connections.

The crowd wasn’t just another tech protest - this was a full-blown takedown targeting Palantir’s cozy relationships with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Israeli government. Led by activists from Planet Over Profit, the demonstration painted Palantir as the ultimate tech villain, a digital overlord potentially enabling mass surveillance and deportation.

The Peter Thiel Connection

At the center of the storm is Palantir’s co-founder Peter Thiel, a Trump ally whose conservative financial backing has made him a prime target for activist ire. Organizer Katie Na didn’t mince words, calling Palantir a “weapon” for “authoritarianism, mass surveillance, deportation and genocide”.

Recruiting Event Interrupted

The protest took a dramatic turn when activists marched to another Palantir building, allegedly interrupting a recruiting event. Protesters pounded windows and used megaphones to shame potential recruits, declaring they would be “staining their hands with blood” by working for the company.

A Growing Movement

This wasn’t just another protest - it was part of a growing movement challenging tech companies’ ethical boundaries. Protesters ranged from “Raging Grannies” to tech workers, united in their condemnation of Palantir’s government contracts and potential for systemic harm.

While Palantir remains tight-lipped, the activists hope their public pressure might impact the company’s reputation and stock price - proving that in the Bay Area, tech accountability is becoming a force to be reckoned with.
