Zuck Gets Slapped: How Meta Became Trump's Personal Censorship Machine

In the twisted world of tech and politics, Mark Zuckerberg continues to prove he’s more of a political puppet than a tech visionary. Meta, formerly known as Facebook, has once again demonstrated its willingness to bend over backwards for the Trump administration by deleting a Facebook page that ICE mysteriously claimed was “targeting” their agents.

The Censorship Carousel

Imagine a world where social media platforms act like obedient lapdogs to political power. Oh wait, that’s exactly what’s happening. The Department of Justice, under Trump’s watchful eye, demanded Facebook remove a page critical of ICE, and Zuckerberg rolled over faster than you can say “algorithm”.

Free Speech? More Like Free Manipulation

Earlier this year, Zuckerberg claimed Facebook would stop censoring content and protect “free expression”. Spoiler alert: that promise lasted about as long as a San Francisco summer fog. When Trump wants something gone, it gets gone - whether it’s COVID misinformation or pages that make ICE look bad.

The Ongoing Tech Surrender

This isn’t just about one page. It’s a pattern of tech companies capitulating to political pressure. Apple pulled an app tracking ICE agent locations, and Meta has consistently demonstrated its willingness to play ball with the Trump administration, even contributing $1 million to his inaugural fund and settling a lawsuit for $25 million.

In the end, Zuckerberg’s commitment to “free speech” looks more like a commitment to whatever keeps him in the good graces of those in power. Welcome to the new digital dystopia, where your online voice is only as free as the highest bidder allows.
