49ers Star George Kittle Claps Back at Fake News Drama

Fake news

In the world of sports and social media, fake news spreads faster than a quarterback’s spiral, and NFL star George Kittle just proved he’s not here for internet nonsense.

This week, a sketchy Facebook page called “Red and Gold Legacy” tried to stir up drama by posting a fabricated quote allegedly from Kittle about political activist Charlie Kirk’s death. The fake post claimed Kittle made controversial statements about politics in sports, which couldn’t be further from the truth.

Calling Out the Fakes

With 1.6 million Instagram followers, Kittle wasn’t about to let this misinformation slide. He quickly shut down the rumors by posting a screenshot of the fake quote and calling it out directly. “This is a fake quote,” he wrote, warning his followers to ignore the page that “only posts fake news/reports”.

Social Media Shenanigans

Interestingly, Kittle’s teammate Christian McCaffrey also found himself targeted by similar fabricated quotes, though he chose not to respond publicly. The Facebook page responsible for Kittle’s fake quote has since been taken down, proving that sometimes the internet’s drama is best left unaddressed.

In the meantime, Kittle is focusing on recovery after a hamstring injury that’ll keep him off the field for at least three weeks. Looks like fake news can’t keep a good NFL star down.
